I took a blog break to do more exploring.
I was lucky to be such a short distance away from the departure/arrival point for my parent's cruise this February. I took the train to meet them in San Diego and I am really kicking myself for not bringing my camera. A friend said that a lot of personal items go missing on Amtrak.
If I had my camera I would have taken photos of the snowy San Gabriel mountains. We have had a lot of rain and there is a lot of snow and the LA river has been more than random puddles in a concrete basin. I also would have taken pictures of the Ocean. The tracks are just about on the beach for the last hour of the trip.
...but I know that these would have come out as my reflection in the window w/ tons of glare.
It is calming watching the waves, but the windows in the way makes it seem more like 3D tv.
Seeing my parents was great. Not too often that people come to the west coast to see me. We ate a lot and walked the harbor.
